N3 kanji

N3 is some six hundred accumulated kanji, and there the problem stops being recognition and becomes discrimination: 待 (to wait) and 持 (to hold) differ only in the left radical; 部 and 都 share the right side. The on reading dominates, because almost everything is a two-kanji compound: 経済 economy, 政治 politics, 環境 environment. One rule that holds to the end: when two kanji sit together with no kana between them, both are almost certainly read in on.
