AstraMentis

Terms of use

updated 2026-09-06

Short version: this is a free, invitation-only learning app offered as is by one person. Use it kindly, keep your account to yourself, and know that the content you add is yours.

The service

AstraMentis serves learning cards adapted to your level. It is offered free of charge, without any guarantee of availability, accuracy or fitness for a purpose. The operator may change, pause or stop the service at any time; if it stops, you will have at least 30 days' notice and the export button to take your data.

Your account

Accounts are created with an invitation. You are responsible for your password and for what happens under your account. One person, one account. Do not share your session, scrape the service, try to reach other people's data, or overload it. Accounts that do so, or that are used to harass others, can be closed.

You must be at least 16 years old, or have a parent's or guardian's permission.

Content

Exercises, lessons and explanations written for AstraMentis are published under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0; the code is under the GNU Affero General Public License v3. Third-party content keeps its own license: Lichess puzzles (CC0), Project Gutenberg texts (public domain in the United States; check your country), museum images (CC0 or public domain as marked by each museum). Linked references belong to their authors.

What you write (notes, collections, wishes) stays yours. By sharing a collection you grant the people you share it with the right to read it inside the app; you can revoke that at any time. Do not add content you have no right to share or that is illegal, hateful or harassing.

Learning content may contain mistakes. It is not medical, legal, financial or professional advice.

Payments and patronage

The app is free up to a daily serving of exercises. Beyond that you may become a patron: a monthly subscription at the amount you choose (from 1 €), charged by Stripe until you cancel. Prices are shown with VAT included; the VAT of your country is applied at checkout. You can change the amount or cancel at any time from Profile → Patronage, with effect at the end of the period already paid.

Because the service starts as soon as you pay, you agree at checkout that it begins immediately and you waive the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts (in Sweden, distansavtalslagen; in the EU, the Consumer Rights Directive). If the service is unavailable for a substantial part of a paid month, write to the operator and that month is refunded.

Receipts are sent by Stripe to the email of your account. Being a patron adds no features: it lets you keep going past the free serving and add your own cards without limit.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for damages arising from using or being unable to use the service, including lost data or progress. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

Ending

You can delete your account whenever you want from your profile. The operator can close accounts that break these terms after telling you why, except in cases of abuse that require immediate action.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by Swedish law, without prejudice to the consumer protections of the country where you live. If you are a consumer and we cannot settle a complaint between us, you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se). If they change materially, the date at the top changes and the new text is shown in the app; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Operator contact

Not set on this server yet (OPERATOR_CONTACT). Write to the person who invited you.
